Metal Detector Sandals: Genius or Stupid, You Decide

I’ve always been attracted to the idea of using a metal detector to find lost treasures but I never bought one for fear of looking ridiculous. (Of course my fat ass on the beach is an eye sore in itself). Looks like our friends at hammacher.com have come up with a more inconspicuous detector. Its debatable whether this footwear is inappropriate or a tool for the lazy but I for one think this is a brilliant idea. The anklet pack vibrates, flashes or buzzes when you walk over something metal, up to 2 feet below the surface. ($60.00 price tag)
