Kingdom of Heaven Has an Evolved Doppleganger
In 2005 not too long before Star Wars Episode 3 was released, Ridley Scott of Gladiator fame’s Kingdom of Heaven was released. With an average release draw for a such an expensive film it came and went fairly quick in the US, while it thrived in foreign sales. As a fan of yet another littler known gem I was BLOWN away when I found the four disc Director’s Cut in a used DVD store. The movie I had grown to love, was in a different box and had stealthily flew under my radar! So why after these last few years do i bring this up now? Because this is a DIFFERENT MOVIE. There is a huge amount of deleted cuts added in that evolve and progress the stroyline in a way that would have made this film far grander then it was. It deserved better, and Ridley Scott’s version gives it its due. If you have any love for the first film, you will be floored by this astouding new film. It’s new to me, so it is on my cool list. I wanted more out of this movie when the credits rolled…And Ridley Scott so graciously delivered to me almost an extra hour of savory and delicous cinema to chew on…
Knit Star Trek Meerkats
We got a crafty geek on our hands. Star Trek fan and Knitting master, Allison Oddy has made up some knitted Meerkats complete with uniforms and accessories from Star Trek TOS. Although this is one of the most random things I’ve seen all day I must say these littleguys are quite cute and I admire the originality and craftsmanship. The Good, The Bad, and the Metal!! Cult of Static
Static-X, while being a Marquee band for about a decade they keep releasing albums containing the kind of metal they don’t make anymore…Every Album probably goes gold and while theyr staying power is admirable with their fan base, you gotta respect a “NU-Metal” band still relevant…So color me stupid for missing out on one of the slickest and hardest albums in awhile, and fairly new in release. I wa suprised at the qulaity and overall badassery of it. If this is your cup of tea, they definiitely have brought it, full force back to the roots with some evolution.

Dorito’s Taco’s At Midnight: A product of devine intervention?
If you have yet to try Dorito’s, Tacos at midnight you need to go out and get em right now now because these are no ordinary doritos my friends.. these chips are Magical. How else could a triangular corn chip taste precisely like a taco that was made by a genuine Mexican, if not by magic? Seriously the Cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and gray meat is all accounted for. Sure you may come a across an obnoxiously seasoned chip or two and sure they may induce a pretty bad case of the shits but I tell you its well worth it. This is artificial food at its finest!

Lazer Gun May Become Reality in the Near Future
Raytheon has just been granted a one-year contract from the Navy for the preliminary design of a 100 kiloWatt FEL (Fee Electron Laser) for warships. The laser beams could be used against missles, airplanes, or even boats. Take that, you silly pirates.
Once designed, the naval operators could adjust the wavelength of the laser, which wasn’t possible with conventional lasers. This helps compensate for the varying humidity associated with ship-born situations.
This one-year preliminary design phase is one-third of a $150-million project. Do you think they could work along with the similar project that the Army’s working on? Nah… that might actually save tax-payer dollars.

Here’s a brief story of my first amazing run in with Bawls. I was filming a movie and my call time was midnight, so while waiting 5 or 6 hours for my 10 second scene, I was shown to the cooler for invigorating refreshments. Bawls, one of the best tasting energy drinks on the market was not available in the state I live in due to it’s high caffeine content, it could only be ordered from Florida! So while waiting, I began ordering boxes of these from the company (also they so graciously donated boxes to one of my film productions) because they were unavailable.

Radioactive wasp nests at Hanford reservation
RICHLAND — Workers cleaning up the Hanford nuclear reservation are going after radioactive wasp nests.
The Tri-City Herald reports 6 to 12 inches of top soil are being dug up this month from 6 acres near the H Reactor. And, workers will dig up more individual mud dauber wasp nests over about 75 acres of the nuclear reservation in southeast Washington.
The contractor handling the clean-up, Washington Closure, says the nests were all built in 2003 when water was used to dampen dust during demolition of an H Reactor basin. That attracted the wasps that used the mud to make tube-shaped nests for eggs.
Spokesman Todd Nelson says the nests are “fairly highly contaminated.”
